Our Mission

The leading nonprofit provider of affordable housing and supportive services in the Southern Berkshires, Construct exists to help people in—and out—of crisis. To that end, our mission is to provide neighbors of low and moderate incomes with affordable housing solutions through rental assistance and related support services. We aim to provide a safe homecoming for all, a viable path to security, and a firm foundation from which families can begin to feel hopeful again.

We Partner With People in Their Times of Crisis

  • Transitional housing
  • Emergency funds
  • Rental assistance
  • Microloans that cover: security deposits, fuel bills, utility bills, other housing-related costs

Our programs provide the basics—transitional housing, emergency funds, rental assistance, and microloans that cover security deposits, fuel bills, utility bills and other housing-related costs. We partner with people in their times of crisis, helping them successfully transition back to stability and self-sufficiency.

Our permanent housing program provides more than just a roof overhead—we provide a community, a neighborhood and living quarters for essential workers and those who make the Berkshires the home base we all love. The second prong of our housing program expands affordable housing options through repurposing existing structures and creating new homes where they are most needed. Working with town leaders and neighbors, we create homes that accentuate all that we love about the Berkshires.

We partner with Greenagers, Railroad St. Youth, the Rural Health Network, Rural Recovery Resources, Berkshire United Way, and others to ensure housing is part of the equation for working and healthy families through Pathways to the Trades, Economic Prosperity Impact Council and South Berkshire Health Coalition.
