Construct Launches 18th Annual Warm Up the Winter Campaign
Great Barrington, MA – Construct today announced its 18th annual campaign to Warm Up the Winter for south Berkshire County residents in need. The campaign raises funds for wintertime emergency assistance for fuel, utilities, rent payments, and short term accommodations for low-income residents. This year the Great Barrington non-profit aims to raise $150,000.
“The winter months pose serious challenges for many Berkshire households,” says Jane Ralph, Construct Executive Director. “With increased prices for natural gas and electricity, and the National Weather Service predicting this winter will be colder than last year, we know people will have to make choices between heat and prescription medicines or food – choices no one should have to make.”
Funds raised from Warm Up the Winter will help income-eligible households in south Berkshire County including the towns of Lenox, Lee, Richmond, West Stockbridge, Stockbridge, Great Barrington, Housatonic, Sheffield, Ashley Falls, Monterey, New Marlboro and Mill River, Otis, Becket, Sandisfield, and Tyringham.
