The Campaign

To meet the increased need for services, Construct is launching a capital campaign to expand and relocate its main offices. The new space will serve as the hub for affordable housing in the South Berkshires and beyond. We have raised $165,000 of our $225,000 goal, and now we are inviting public support to complete our campaign.

Please join us in building The Construct Center for Affordable Housing with a gift at any level.

The Center

THE CONSTRUCT CENTER FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING comes at a critical time when rising rents and a shortage of affordable housing options are displacing low and moderate-income residents from local communities, including essential workers, Black, Indigenous, people of color (BIPOC), and those with children.

BY RELOCATING STAFF from an unsuitable congregate transitional home into a repurposed building on the Forest Springs development site, Construct’s most vulnerable clients will better served. With the move, Construct will expand services, grow advocacy and education programs, and improve staff productivity to meet increased demand. The new Center will serve as the hub for affordable housing in the South Berkshires and beyond.

The Goal

The Construct Center has been designed as a 2,823 square foot, repurposed building on a one-acre site adjacent to the Forest Springs Apartments in Great Barrington

Build Out Cost: $225,000

Estimated Move-In: Spring 2023

More About Construct

Our Story

FOUNDED IN 1969, Construct is the leading nonprofit provider of affordable housing and supportive services to residents in fifteen towns across the southern Berkshires. Construct is committed to providing affordable housing to strengthen and diversify communities, stabilize lives, and empower individuals to build a better future.

Our Impact

CONSTRUCT IMPROVES THE LIVES of over 600 adults, children, and youth each year. In 2020, Construct doubled its annual reach from 300 to 600 households, and provided vocational training to 33 youth through Pathways to the Trades, a joint venture with area high schools, Greenagers, and Railroad Street Youth Project. One of the first in the state to provide COVID-19 rental assistance, Construct helped over 200 families, with 500 more filling the housing waiting list.
